The call to
Holiness is not an option for the believer — it is the very life God has called us to live. The Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). Holiness means being set apart for God, living differently from the world, and allowing Christ to shine through us.
Why Holiness Matters
Holiness is not about rules; it is about relationship. When we live holy lives, we reflect the nature of our Father. Just as light cannot mix with darkness, the believer cannot live in compromise and still shine for Christ. Holiness brings us closer to God, gives us confidence in prayer, and allows us to live in freedom.
Holiness is a Process
None of us become holy overnight. It is a journey of daily surrender to the Lord. Through prayer, studying God’s Word, and yielding to the Holy Spirit, our character is transformed. The things that once tempted us lose their power when Christ becomes our greatest desire.
Holiness in Practical Living
Holiness is not just about avoiding sin — it’s about pursuing righteousness. It shows in the way we speak, how we handle money, how we treat others, and even in the private thoughts of our hearts. True holiness flows from the inside out.
A Call to the Church
In a world filled with compromise, the church must rise as a holy people. Holiness is not about being perfect, but about being surrendered. When the church walks in holiness, revival breaks out, because holiness attracts God’s presence.
Reflection Question:
Are there areas of your life you have not fully surrendered to God? Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk in holiness.
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender every part of my life to You. Make me holy as You are holy. Let my life reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
